Literature Text

For centuries the war between the weres and the vampires had been waged with humanity as the clueless filling of the bloodthirsty sandwich. The secret war that those who had the most at stake weren't even aware of existed for a simple reason. Those who controlled the humans would have the highest numbers. Finally at the end of the year 1999 H.R. at the turn of the milennium things came to a cusp. The vampires had designed a spell which would ensure all that remained of humanity would find themselves in a state where they'd be more suggestible to vampires. At the same time however the weres had designed their own super-spell. This one turned all humans into the werecreature that corresponded most strongly with their own hearts.
Short version-The vampires found themselves with an army of weres that they didn't have to spend any effort into controlling. Needless to say it was a bit of a slaughter for the remaining "true" weres.
Several thousand years later the world is run by an upper class of vampiric aristocracy with all menial jobs done by were slaves. Their treatment varies greatly from vampire to vampire. Humans are now considered near mythical creatures. "True" weres keep themselves hidden to the best of their abilities. However, things are not all that bleak...and pockets of resistance still exist...
Man the literature categories are weird. Anyway, this is just an intro paragraph thingy for the very silly Wereworld AU me and *SageOfMagic came up with. ...I guess it doesn't seem that silly from this thing, but it really sort of is considering the whole thing started as an excuse to write fluff >.>
Species of WW-
Vampires-The current dominant race on the planet. Vampires are skilled with magic, have to suck blood, and are as a species plagued with OCD. They don't have issues with sun, and reproduce like normal mammals...since there aren't really any humans around anymore. They feed off were blood. They also tend to have some mind-control powers, and don't like silver much. Can regenerate from great damage.
Weres-This is what the humans became. A were is a being that can transform from a human into a mammal, bird, or reptile. They also have an intermediate form which it's power and exact appearance depends on the phase of the moon, or just how angry they are at the time. As a side affect of their "artificial" creation they retain traits of the animal they transform into. Most commonly minor cosmetics such as ears and tails (which is actually specifically bred for by the vampires) When they're fertile is determined by the animal they turn into. Hybridization is possible between weres. They also have a compulsion to obey all orders from vampires until bonded to a specific vampire. Then they're only compelled to listen to the vampire they "belong" too. Their magic abilities vary greatly. They don't like silver much either. Can also regenerate from heavy damage.
True Weres-A variant on weres. They can take entirely human forms if it pleases them. Which thanks to the vampires trying to eradicate their species isn't real often. They're rather rare by this point. Any crossbreeding between a common and a true were creates true were babies. Rumors of were settlements persist to this day.
Humans-Pretty much extinct by this point. Any humans that remain were those very rare few who were immune to turning into vampires or werewolves. By most vampires and weres they're regarded as pretty much mythical.
Dragons-They pretty much keep to themselves. And when they don't they're good enough shapeshifters you really wouldn't be able to tell anyway. They like shiny stuff.
Elves-They also mostly keep to themselves. They don't like iron. So, unlike dragons they have a good reason to avoid the other civilizations.
Hybrids-the most common sort are vampireXwere How they get treated varies widely based on their parentage, appearance, and inherited abilities.

Uh, okay this is really mostly so I have this stuff written down somewhere >.> Everything is subject to revision and suchlike.
