Kellyn but a stripling lad

Went off to slay a dragon

Full of vim and youthful grit

He'd come in on a wagon.

Into it's den dark and deep

It had taken maidens fair

Full of vim and youthful grit

He'd come upon the beasts lair.

At the mouth the maiden tied

"Don't come near else you will die

The dragon is far too near!"

But he had refused that why.

"Maiden fair you need not fear

The beast is who's in peril

Of the knights I'm number one

So despair the dragon will."

Deep inside the monster stirred

"Run, please leave now!" was pleaded

Full of vim and youthful grit,

He'd challenged it on a whim.

He turned and stared in vile eyes

Ready he pulled out his sword

Wyrm approached and maiden cried,

As he struck the dragon roared.

"No please stop!" the maiden cried

But the great deed had been done

Pierced at heart the beast lay slain

Kellyn grinned for he had won!

Suddenly the maiden glowed

The girl became the dragon

She who'd seemed a great drake smiled

"I missed being a maiden."

"A wizard had turned me hence

He wanted me, I spurned him."

Full of vim and youthful grit

The knight had won the maiden!
For English class.

It's the story of Roz's parents meeting!

Great King Kellyn the Dragonslayer and his queen Silvara of the Frost were perhaps the most iconic royalty of the age. Giving birth to perhaps this lands greatest line of kings Kellyn earned his title early back when the tradition of giving kingdoms for acts of great heroism were still strong. Evidence suggests that original legends had Silvara truly be the dragon. Later this morphed into her coming out of the dragon or having been cursed.
